Foi neste estado que dezenas de habitações ficaram, completamente destruídas como se de um tornado ou tsunami se tratasse, mas não, esta calamidade aconteceu bem perto nos Açores. A enchurrada de lamas, chuvas "varreu" uma parte da povoação da Ribeira Quente.(Novembro 1997)

Como trabalho fotográfico é magnífico. Por outro lado, temos na memória a desgraça vivida pelos habitantes da Ribeira Quente.
Está na memória de todos nós o que aconteceu nesse dia.
Fiquei muito triste. Foi doloroso o que aconteceu. Tamanha desgraça que bateu á porta da Ribeira Quente.
